Palolem
Tranquil, idyllic and laid-back, Palolem is one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa. With palm-fringed golden sands, a crescent-shaped bay and the warm, blue waters of the Arabian Sea softly tumbling on the shore, it's no wonder many visitors choose to extend their time in Palolem. It's much quieter than the more popular, northern beaches but there are still plenty of relaxed bars and restaurants offering tasty local dishes and refreshments. The small Canacona island to the north can be reached by a short swim, or by walking at low tide and makes a great afternoon stroll. There's a freshwater stream here too. The nearby and much quieter Agonda beach is a great place to try fishing and is reachable by car, bike or scooter - perfect for a day trip.
